Synaptic transmission refers to the transient exchange of signals between neurons. This fundamental process supports cognitive functions. Amidst synaptic transmission, chemical messengers are discharged from the transmitting cell, passing over a synapse known as the synaptic cleft. These neurotransmitters then bind to receptors on the postsynaptic
